What’s really going on?
What’s causing that inner turmoil within your body? What’s causing the discord? What’s pulling you apart and threatening to tear the very fiber that holds you together?
Are you not supposed to be happy, in control, in charge of your life and enjoying the life that you were born to live?
Then, why do you feel dissatisfied, unfulfilled, and unhappy? What is this silent restlessness? Why are you not content with the way things are?
Perhaps you are a career driven woman with great professional qualifications and expertise. You have finally got the job you have desired for so long— the job of your dreams. However, now that you have it, you are wondering why you even desired it! The job pays well and you are in the right position, but you want something else, something more, another job and this is not it. What is really going on?
Perhaps you have been feeling empty and unfulfilled. You feel as though something is missing inside you, but you can’t seem to place your finger on what exactly it is. You don’t even know clearly what it is you are looking for, but you feel the need to be introspective and to try and figure it all out. You just want to be alone, to stay away from social activities and to kind of cut down on fun time. You need to think and be clear about your life. What is really going on?
Perhaps people think that you are the luckiest person in the world. They envy you because they think that you have got things moving in your direction. Just because you come from the “right family” and from the “right side of the tracks,” they think that your life “rocks”. What they don’t know is that deep down inside, you don’t feel lucky, you feel empty and unfulfilled, you are hurting inside and you don’t know why. You want to cry for help but you dare not, you want people to see you for who you are, to know that you are not super human and that things are falling apart in your life…what is really going on?
Perhaps you are the “invisible” person who wants to be visible, to be recognized as a “person” and to be recognized for your work. You want to be someone in society, and to move from nowhere to somewhere. You are frustrated because none of these things you desire seem to be happening in your life. You constantly wonder why things seem to fall in place for others but not for you. You feel like a victim of circumstances and you just want to scream and tell people “Hey! Stop! Look at me, consider me, value my contribution …I am IT! I am the real deal!” What is really going on?
Outwardly everything seems perfect but inwardly, your battle to stay intact rages on!
Do you identify with any of these situations? If you do, then perhaps you need to take some time to find yourself.
To find yourself you need to ask yourself three simple questions:
1. Who are you?
Consider your values… what do you stand for? What’s really important to you? Think about this question from the truth that you know deep down inside. Can you describe who you are and what you represent? Who do your friends say you are? Do you believe them? If you don’t, then who are you? Don’t be influenced by what you or others think that you “should “be. Look within and give yourself honest feedback.
2. What do you want?
What are your dreams, desires and expectations or goals in life? What do you want to accomplish in life? Write everything down and ponder about point carefully. Ask yourself why “what you want” is really important to you.
3. Where are you now and how will you get to where you want to be?
Consider who you are today...how do you feel about the person that you are today? How about what you are doing? How do you feel about your work? If you are not satisfied with who you are and what you do— what will you do to ensure that you begin to live the life that you want? How will you do it? By when will you do it? Decide what you need to do, commit to it and do it.Finally, get in touch with your true self, align your life with your purpose and begin to lead a fulfilling life! You know the answer, it lies within you.
