Do you have a crystal that has changed its color? For example, you started out with a rose quartz that was pink and now it has changed its color. Or you started out with a citrine that was champagne yellow and now it has changed its color. Or you have an amethyst that was dark and intense, deep purple, and now it's kind of pale. Or maybe, like me, you had a malachite that really changed its color and its luster, and it turned really, really lifeless, or whatever. If you know what I'm talking about and your crystal has changed its color, please let me know in the comments section, because this is just a subject that a lot of people have asked me about, and I want to share my perspective on this particular issue and also provide a space where y'all can tell me or let others know what your perspectives or what your ideas are behind why your crystals have changed color.
A lot of people have different interpretations and understandings of why certain things are happening, and sometimes just sharing that specific insight that you have is very, very helpful to other people who might just be wondering. Maybe they have experienced the same thing but nobody has ever spoken it the way you speak it. So please feel free to leave your comments and share that wisdom with us.
Crystals, just like everything else, go through their own changes. Some of these changes are evident and some of them are not evident, and sometimes a crystal color change is something that can occur. When you're working with crystals and you notice something like that, it can really provide you vital information about what's going on in your particular life experience as pertains to that specific crystal. I'm always saying, we have got to be awake when we're working with crystals. We can't just sleep on these things, especially if you're working with crystals as a tool for healing, growth, transformation, and higher awakening. So when you're working with a crystal and it changes color, it is not an accident.
The first reason why a crystal you are working with can change its color is to match your current energy. It can be an indication to you of where you are energetically. So for example, you start out with a dark colored amethyst, which is intense, and we know that amethyst is a spiritual stone, it's a stone that uplifts energy, it moves energy upward and whatnot. When you start out with it, you work with it for a long time or for a short time or whatever, and then maybe at some point you notice that dark colored amethyst has now changed its color. It's no longer bright, it's no longer as intense as it used to be. That color change can sometimes be an indication to you that the intensity that you had in terms of your spiritual evolution, or the intensity that you had in terms of your energy, has now sort of leveled down or is now balanced or in a little bit more harmony. It really depends on your situation, and this is not a bad thing. We don't always have to be intense in everything. Sometimes that coolness has more power than the intensity that we aim for.
The different colors of the spectrum are really the same thing, but it always depends on what we're trying to achieve. So the fact that your amethyst is now leveling you down and balancing you out into a paler state by that indication of color change is not always a bad thing. Everything works for your best, and the crystals usually reflect to us what is truly going on within us, and it's always for us to notice and observe and do the necessary thing. So no matter what type of crystal you're working with, whether it's a rose quartz or a citrine or any other type of crystal that usually changes its color, and sometimes you'll really be surprised, even some of the crystals that people usually don't expect to change their colors sometimes change their colors. I'm telling you, the way these crystals work is just amazing. So no matter what it is, keep in mind that that color change may be an indicator of an energy change in you, and it could also be something that's matching your current energy. Just go with that flow.
The other reason why a crystal can change its color is because, first of all, we know that crystals are healing tools. When you're working with these crystals to help us remove unwanted energies or to eliminate things from our lives, a crystal that you're working with can change its color to reveal to you that it has absorbed that unwanted energy, or helped you remove energetically that energy that causes that pathology in your life or that specific illness or that unwanted thing. A crystal, when you're working with it and you really, really look at how it's helping you, it can reveal so much. So it's not a bad thing when your crystal changes color. Just be thankful, because it has helped you absorb an energy. All you have to do is to step in that power of the new person that you are, moving in this world, living in this world without that unwanted energy. This is how we transform our lives. Something is taken away from us and we become new. The old is gone and now we are new, and that delightful insight can be revealed by your crystal changing color.
Then the other reason why a crystal can change color is because of sweating and moisture. Some people just sweat too much, and sometimes when you wear these crystals, they're going to interact with the moisture in your body and then they'll change color. So a crystal can just change colors because of sweat. There's moisture in the air, there's moisture in your body, and you're sweating, so the crystal can change its color because maybe it doesn't like sweat.
Then the other reason that crystals change color: obviously it's because they're dyed crystals or they're fake crystals. Out there, there are all these things going on with crystals, and some of them are dyed, and not for a bad reason, because there are some crystals that have been dyed and you can use the energy of the intense colors to work with those specific type of crystals. I've made some videos about fake crystals and whatnot, but to stick with this subject: sometimes a crystal that has been dyed can just start leaking or changing color because of the fact that it's dyed. So don't be surprised, but do your due diligence when you go out there, just to make sure that you're buying a crystal that is not dyed or that is not fake, unless you specifically want that specific energy of dyed crystals, because there's a therapeutic benefit of working with color therapy in healing.
Anyway, the other thing is that sometimes crystals can change their color because of exposure to sunlight. The mineral composition can change, because some crystals, when you put them in direct sunlight, they change color. Like when you put amethyst out under direct sunlight for long periods of time, it changes color and becomes something else which is sold as baked citrine or whatever. So if you put your crystal out there under direct sunlight, especially when that specific crystal is known to change color under these hot, heated situations, then your crystal can change color. Some of these crystal color changes are just because of how the minerals in the crystal interact with nature.
Then the other thing is that a crystal can change its color because it's an indication to you that it's a new season. Just like when there are seasonal changes and the leaves of a tree change from green to brown, a crystal also can change its color to indicate to you that a new season is here for you, whether that season is green for thriving, maybe if the crystal becomes more intense, or whether that crystal has become less intense in terms of the color change being indicated.
Keep this in mind: the fact that a crystal is dark or pale has nothing to do with the power of the crystal. The power of the crystal is just completely something else, and has nothing to do with the dark aspect of the crystal or the lightness of the crystal. The energy is always what it needs to be, powerful, and it's for you to notice and recognize what time it is in terms of the energy of the crystal and you, so that you can know what to do or what the next step is for you to take.
And by that same token, a crystal can change its color to indicate that the purpose for which you started out using it is now over. That old phase is over, it's complete, and so the color change might indicate to you: now this specific crystal has done its part. Maybe it's now time for you to work with another crystal, because whatever it is that you are using that specific crystal for is now over. It's time for you to shift gears. So pay attention, so you don't keep working with energy that is no longer applicable or available to you. If there's a color change, the original purpose is over, and that means it is over.
